PULLMAN - The young woman found in a pool of blood in Whitman county has been upgraded to satisfactory condition.

Kristen Grindley, a recent WSU graduate, was found last Wednesday on Pullman-Albion Road with what appeared to be life threatening injuries.

She was transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane in critical condition. On Monday, staff said her condition has improved to satisfactory.

Whitman County Sheriff Brett Myers said, although her condition has improved, she is in and out of consciousness and still not able to provide information to deputies at this time.

Myers said Grindley's boyfriend Richard Pasma remains a person of interest.

Myers said they are talking to several people to find out more about the events of the evening before Grindley was found. He said they are keeping that information guarded at this point in the investigation.
