PULLMAN - There is new information in the case of a WSU graduate apparently left for dead on a rural Whitman County road Wednesday morning.

Whitman County Undersheriff Ron Rockness said Friday 23-year-old Kristen Grindley's boyfriend remains a person of interest in the case.

Grindley was found early Wednesday morning lying in a pool of blood on Pullman-Albion Road. At the time, investigators said she apparently had either fell from a motor vehicle or was struck by one.

Rockness says her boyfriend, Richard Pasma, was questioned the night of the incident and that his pickup truck was impounded.

Rockness says Pasma has retained an attorney and that no further questioning of Pasma has taken place since Wednesday night.

Rockness said a search warrant for the pickup had been obtained but not yet served.

Grindley remains in critical condition at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane.
