MOSCOW - It was a happy ending to what could have been a sad story.

The Latah County Sheriff's Office says a missing hunter was found Friday morning, after losing his bearings north of Laird Park Thursday night.

66-year-old Brennus Moody of Cottonwood was found by another hunter around 11:30 this morning. He was reported missing by his son at around 9:15 Thursday night, in the Strychnine Ridge area.

Latah County deputies and Search and Rescue personnel searched into the night. Helicopters from the Border Patrol and the Air Force joined the search Friday morning.

An ambulance was called to the scene where Moody came out of the woods, but he did not require transport.

With snow forecast for the area Friday evening, Latah County Sheriff's Lieutenant Brannon Jordan said it was the best possible outcome they could hope for.
