Police: WSU student injured in fall was intoxicated

PULLMAN - A WSU student was injured after falling out a fraternity house window.

Pullman Police responded to Alpha Kapa Lambda just before 3:00 a.m. Wednesday. Sergeant Dan Dornes said the 20-year-old member of the fraternity was intoxicated at the time of the fall. He landed on a parked vehicle below the window, smashing in the windshield.

He was transported to Pullman Regional Hospital with cuts and back injuries. He was not identified by police so his condition is not known. but Dornes said he was conscious and speaking when EMS crews arrived.

Dornes said they are treating the fall as an accident and will not be charging anyone for alcohol-related crimes.

WSU suspended the fraternity's affiliation with the school in 2008 after the fraternity allegedly violated school policies and sold illegal drugs out of the chapter house.

This is the third fall from a fraternity house window this semester on the Palouse. Two UI students were seriously injured in similar accidents earlier in the semester.
