ASOTIN - Asotin County voter turnout stood at 50 percent as of Tuesday night..

"I think on the presidential we only had 80 some percent, so that's pretty good," said Johnston.

Johnston said it seems voters have gotten used to the all mail-in format.

"There are still a few that send in last election's ballot, or punch it. We used to have punch cards, so they take take something and punch out the little box on the page which is strange, but no really rude comments this time like we get often," said Johnston. "Mickey Mouse got a few votes and "anybody but" or "any Democrat" all those people got votes, but we expect that."

Johnston scanned ballots into the system Tuesday, which uploads them to a computer, which made election results available early Tuesday night.

"We put it in the tally machine and within two minutes we've got results," said Johnston.
