Three-year-old girl dies in fire near WeippeBy KLEW Web Staff
WIEPPE – A deadly fire Monday afternoon near Weippe claimed the life of a three-year-old girl.
According to the Clearwater Co. Sheriff’s Office, at around 1 pm the Weippe Fire Department, Weippe Ambulance and the Clearwater County Sheriff's Office responded to the structure fire at 121 Lombard Road. It was reported that the structure was fully involved and that there was a three year old still in the home. Upon arrival it was determined that Fawn M. Robles, 40, and a 14-month-old girl were located at a residence next door. Robles was able to get the toddler out of the house and returned to get a second child but was unable to find the child. Robles and the toddler were transported to the Clearwater Valley Hospital in Orofino with unknown injuries. The fire was put out and firefighters discovered the body of the three-year-old in the home. The Clearwater County Coroner's Office responded to the scene to assist with the investigation. Robles was transported by helicopter to Deaconess Medical Center in Spokane where she is listed as stable. The toddler was treated and released from the Clearwater Valley Hospital. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. |
