ASOTIN - Keith Delzer was appointed to an empty seat on the Asotin City Council in April.

"I've always had an interest in local government and I am retired enough now that I have the time to do that," said Delzer. "I think that I have the abilities, so that's why I applied for the remainder of the unfinished term, and that's why I am seeking election."

Delzer is a retired forester who has lived in Asotin for five years. He said there are several issues like the waterfront and streets that he finds important.

"We just received a grant to extend the water line to the north part of the city that was just annexed and a big part of that is we will inter-tie to the Clarkston PUD, so that we will have future water for future growth in Asotin. That's a big deal," said Delzer.

He said his experience and listening skills make his a smart choice for residents of Asotin.

"I don’t feel that I bring a personal agenda. There are a lot of historical biases," said Delzer. "I listen to the facts, I listen to the folks and use that to make good decisions. That's what I’ve done and I will continue to do that. That's why I think people would want to vote for me."
