CLARKSTON – The Public Transit Benefit Area Measure in Asotin County is hoping for votes to continue it's sale tax funding.

"On the ballot we have a measure to continue the current sales tax, 2/10ths of 1%, which is 20 cents to every $100," said Transportation Coordinator Kim Gates. “We use that money as a match for federal funds.”

Gates stresses it is not an increase over previous years, rather a continuation of funding and service.

"To continue the growth and success of our transit system we need more service, we want more routes and in order to do that we need to continue the sales tax," said Gates.
