Idaho State Police says Derrick Dryden, 22, of Cottonwood, was headed south in a 1991 Subaru when he fell asleep and drifted to the right of the roadway. His car struck a tree. He was transported to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center where he was listed in fair condition.
His passengers, Benjamin Holland and Nicholas Walker, both 23, were killed in the crash.
ISP says the crash happened on a straight stretch of dry roadway.
Neither the driver nor the passengers were wearing seat belts, according to ISP.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor. Notifications of next of kin have been made.
