GRANGEVILLE - The Idaho County Sheriff's Office has released the name of an inmate who reportedly hung himself at the county jail last week.

Officials said Monday that 43- year-old Quincy Raymond Matteson of Riggins was found dead in his cell Friday afternoon. They said Matteson was the sole occupant of the cell.

He was arrested two days earlier and was being held on charges of manufacture of a controlled substance, manufacture of a controlled substance in the presence of a child, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and a Probation & Parole agent’s warrant.

Idaho State Police conducted the investigation.
