Troy woman dies in fall down stairs

TROY - A Troy woman died Thursday when she fell down a flight of stairs. It happened at around 6:30 a.m.

The Latah County Sheriff's Office says 53-year-old Jaylene Wernecke was going down the stairs to the basement at 107 West 4th Street in Troy when she fell.

Sheriff's deputies responded, along with members of the Troy Ambulance. Wernecke died at the scene.

The Sheriff's Office is investigating.
