CLARKSTON - Spirit Masks, warrior shields and tapestries fit for a princess.

Those are just some of the items on display at Clarkston's Valley Art Center.

"We have everything here but shrunken heads and these people were cannibals into the 20th century," said curator Craig Whitcomb

Thursday was the opening of a display of Indonesian Art collected by Asotin native Cathy Wilsey-Forgey who lived in Indonesia for six years.

"What is unique about this particular exhibit is the artwork and crafts are mostly provided by the hands of women of the royal families of Indonesia," said Whitcomb.

And if you fall in love with any of the pieces, they are for sale. Whitcomb said that Wilsey-Forgey wants to go back to school to become a nurse and then return to Indonesia to help people.

Valley Art Center is on 6th Street in Clarkston and is open from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
