HAGERMAN (AP) — Gooding County sheriff's deputies have recovered the body of a 19-year-old Castleford man who drowned in the Snake River.

Zachary Baird drowned Tuesday evening near the Bell Rapids access area of the Snake River.

Gooding County Sheriff Shaun Gough says Baird was part of a group of four or five people swimming no more than 50 yards from the shore. Baird apparently was swimming toward a floating buoy when he yelled for help before going underwater.
