KOOSKIA - It was a big ham radio Field Day last weekend in the Valley and elsewhere in the area, including Kooskia.

David Brainerd helped organize it. Ham radio operators from Idaho and Lewis counties gathered at City Park Saturday and Sunday

Using portable radios and simple wire antennas they were able to contact 145 other groups in 20 states and two Canadian provinces. Contacts were made with stations as far away as Alaska and Louisiana.

Field Day is an annual exercise sponsored by the American Radio Relay League.
