Shots fired at Albion home

ALBION, WA - The Whitman County Sheriff Office is investigating a shooting in Albion this week.

At about 9:00 on Tuesday night, deputies responded to reports of shots being fired near 3rd and D Street.

Witnesses said two men were involved in an altercation at a D Street home when the homeowner fired at least two shots.

According to reports, Clark Proctor of Pullman was asked to leave the property by Michael Welch of Albion, but refused. Deputies said Welch displayed a shotgun and fired it twice into the air. No injuries were reported.

Proctor was later arrested in Pullman for 2nd Degree Criminal Trespass. The investigation is continuing. Charges could be filed against Welch for firing the gun.
