ASOTIN - A man accused of third degree child molestation changed his plea Tuesday before Judge Ray Lutes in Asotin County Superior Court.

Edward Hochrein pleaded guilty Tuesday morning to having sexual contact with a girl between the ages of 14 and 16.

"In exchange the state has agreed to forgo seeking an amendment to the charge and we will be recommending six months, which is the low end of the standard range," said Asotin County Prosecutor Ben Nichols.

The standard range is six to 12 months.

Hochrein, 49, has been in the Asotin County Jail since March on a $150,000 bond. Before he is sentenced it is required by law to do a pre-sentence investigation.
