ASOTIN - EMS discussions continued Wednesday night between Lewiston, Asotin County, Clarkston and the City of Asotin.

Asotin County Commissioner Don Brown said the discussion revolved around the Asotin County proposal of having Lewiston run an ambulance out of the Asotin County Fire District's Clarkston Heights location.

Brown said most of those attending Wednesday night’s meeting seemed to believe that at least one ambulance is needed in the Heights, that it would improve response times in unincorporated Asotin County and the City of Asotin, but not necessarily downtown Clarkston.

At the two-hour meeting, Asotin County Chief Financial Officer Kelly Dougherty said she still disagrees with the numbers, saying they are inflated.

No decision was made however, and the group will meet again Wednesday. The Lewiston City Council has set a May 4 deadline to conclude EMS negotiations.
