“Home Spun Family Fun!” at Asotin County Fair

“Home Spun Family Fun!” at Asotin County Fair
ASOTIN, WA - Sunshine, animals and a whole lot of excrement! It's fair time and after a lot of hard work and dedication animal owners are ready to show the judges what they've got.

"Everybody is a blue ribbon today," said Poultry Judge Joan Dugger.

Dugger said she's taking a close look at how the birds have been cared for when picking out the top winners.

"Comparing breeds to breeds, cleanliness, health and overall just confirmation of the birds," said Dugger.

We got a chance to catch up with some of the main contenders...here's what one rooster had to say.

Insightful and straight to the point. The cows on the other hand weren't as eager to talk to me.

Luckily everyone at the fair wasn't a primadonna.

"This year I've been raising my pig for four months," said Alex Italia.

5th grader Alex Italia has been hard at work to win big bucks for his prize pig. And just down the hallway...a mother goat was hard at work in labor this morning! Three baby goats were born right here at the fair at 4 a.m.

Now I've been walking all over the fair and I've got to tell you, this is the most popular pen.

"It's really like how they're black and they're brown at the same time I think it's really cute," said Marshall.

The Asotin County Fair...where anything can happen...even a live birth for the judges! Now that deserves a Yee Haw.

The fair runs through Sunday, so if you haven't had a chance to head up to Asotin yet, be sure to head out there to support all the 4-H and FFA participants.
