INLAND REGION – Numerous weather-related local crashes over the weekend ended in one fatality and a number of injuries.

The Washington State Patrol said a Pasco woman died in a crash on U.S. 195 north of Pullman Saturday morning at around 8:30.

WSP said a 2001 Dodge Ram pickup driven by Jessie M. McCleary, 29, of Albion was headed north near the Albion Road intersection when it was struck on the passenger side by a southbound 2002 Nissan Pathfinder driven by Andrew J. Tillman, 53, of Pasco. WSP says Tillman lost control of his vehicle on snow and ice, causing the collision.

McCleary was injured but refused treatment at the scene, later driving herself to the hospital in Colfax. Tillman was transported to Pullman Regional Hospital. Janice C. Tillman, 48, of Pasco, who was a passenger in the Nissan, was declared dead at the scene.

WSP said the driver of the Nissan was driving too fast for conditions and that charges are pending.

Also on Saturday, 58-year-old Edith C. Sharpiro of Orofino was injured in a single-vehicle crash at around 2:45 p.m. on U.S. 12 near Kamiah.

Idaho State Police says she was westbound at mile post 59 in a 2002 Toyota Echo when she lost control and crashed into a guardrail.

She was transported to Clearwater Valley Hospital in Orofino.

Another crash on U.S. 12 at about 4:20 sent two people to the hospital. It happened west of Orofino.

ISP says 70-year-old Donald J. Anderson of Stites was traveling eastbound in a 2001 Dodge pickup when he lost control of his vehicle due to conditions. Both he and his unidentified passenger were taken to Clearwater Valley Hospital and the passenger was later transported to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.

On Sunday afternoon, a serious crash on State Route 26 near Dusty injured five people, including a three-year-old girl.

Washington State Patrol said Blaze A. Scott, 22, of Ephrata, was driving a 1996 Ford Thunderbird eastbound when it spun out of control and crossed the centerline into the westbound lane. A 2005 Honda being driven westbound by James T. Crabbe of Tacoma hit the passenger side of the Thunderbird, pushing it back across the eastbound lane and into the right front corner of a 2004 Hyundai driven by 22-year-old John E. Feurstein of Pullman.

Feurstein and his passenger, 21-year-old Johanna D. Peterson of Moscow, were not injured.

Crabbe was transported to the hospital in Colfax, along with passenger Carrie L. Crabbe, 35, of Tacoma. A three-year-old girl, Lilly Crabbe was transported by MedStar to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane.

Blaze was transported to Pullman Regional Hospital. MedStar transported Jessica L. Striffler, 23, of Rexburg, who was a passenger in the Thunderbird, to Sacred Heart Medical Center.
