It happened just before 6:00 p.m. Washington State Patrol says that 83-year-old Frank H. Wainwright was traveling northbound across the Bridge in a 1992 Oldsmobile Cutlass when he failed to stop at the stop sign and ran into a rock wall.
The report said alcohol or other drugs were not a factor. WSP also said that Wainwright was not wearing a seatbelt992 Oldsmobile Cutlass. Clarkston Police and Fire, the Asotin County Sheriff’s Office and Lewiston Medics responded, along with Whitman County officials and WSP.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation by WSP.
