CLARKSTON - A tour boat's excursion Monday was cut short when it reportedly hit a rock on the Snake River.

Medics and police responded to a dock behind the Quality Inn after a report came in around 3:30 p.m. of injured passengers. Officials haven't released exactly where the accident happened, but first responders at the dock said they evacuated a group from a Snake River Adventures boat.

One of the evacuated passengers said the boat went through a spot he thought was too narrow, then the boat hit some rocks in the river.

At least one person was taken to the hospital by Lewiston ambulance, but EMS personnel said all the injuries were minor, mostly caused when the boat came to a sudden stop.

The Nez Perce County Sheriff's Office is investigating. No one from Snake River Adventures was available for comment Monday.
