COLFAX - The Lewiston Roundup is underway in the valley, but up on the Palouse it is all about the Palouse Empire Fair and Rodeo.

Rides, booths and animals. There are many reasons to check out the fair in Colfax

"I love funnel cakes here," said Zack

"The food and rides,'" said Bendan Lord.

"The dance, the chicks, the girls. Yeah," said Zack.

Local high schoolers were out in full force as they showed off their livestock.

"In marketwise you compete for how good your pig is," said Zack. "Then in fitting and showing you compete in how well you present your pig."

Zack, Zack and Justin from Rosalia said they also enjoy the rodeo.

"The rodeo," they said. "The bull riding. The rodeo is pretty sweet. "

And Live music entertained the fair goers.

The Palouse Empire Fair runs through Sunday.
