Clock tower will chime again
MOSCOW, ID – If you have been in Moscow lately, you may have noticed that something significant is missing.

One of the City’s oldest landmarks, the First United Methodist Church Clock Tower, stands empty and silent.

Pastor Sue Ostrom said the church is under some major renovations. She said they are replacing the clock faces (which stopped working about six months ago), some broken gears and also the slats that allow the bell chimes to be heard.

Most of the pieces being replaced are from the original church construction in the early 1900’s.

“With an old building like this you always run into problems you didn't expect so we’re hoping within another month we will be up and running and the bell will be working again and the bell will be playing and tolling the hours,” said Ostrom.

We will have an update for you once all the renovations are complete.
