LEWISTON, ID - The fate of a man facing vehicular manslaughter charges is hanging in the balance longer than expected.

Twenty-four-year-old Kyle Rios faces several charges stemming from a December car wreck that killed 53-year-old Paul Stuk of Peck Idaho.

The trial for Rios was planned to start on Monday, however, based on pending motions, it's been postponed.

"Pending pretrial motions that have been filed but not yet heard we can already vacate the trial for Mr. Rios next Monday,” said Nez Perce County Judge Jeff Brudie. “So that trial will not be proceeding and will be scheduled at that conference on June 25th."

Rios is being held in the Nez Perce County Jail on a $100,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court two weeks from today.
