Schuetze plea scheduled for next week

LEWISTON - A Clarkston man charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of 8-year-old Sydney Byrd and injury of 54-year-old Gregory D Engle on May 5 is expected to enter a plea next week.
45-year-old James W Schuetze appeared in Nez Perce County District Court Wednesday for a scheduled arraignment. In a brief proceeding, 2nd District Judge Jeff Brudie set a plea hearing in the case for next Wednesday. Schuetze is also charged with aggravated battery and leaving the scene of an injury accident. If convicted, he faces 10 years to life in prison. |
