Clarkston man takes out two LPD vehicles
LEWISTON - Two Lewiston Police Department cruisers were damaged early Saturday morning when they were struck by a car driven by a Clarkston man.
According to a news release from Idaho State Police at around 1:15 a.m., an LPD officer was parked on 8th Street on a pedestrian stop and a second Lewiston Police Department unit stopped to assist. ISP said both officers had exited their patrol cars. 20-year-old Patrick M. Fix of Clarkston was driving his Honda Accord from Stewart Avenue turning left onto 8th St., when he was unable to negotiate the corner on 8th Street. ISP said Fix struck several large rocks and continued accelerating southbound on 8th Street when his vehicle struck the back of the LPD Chevy Tahoe. After impact the Honda Accord rolled backwards and struck the LPD Ford Crown Victoria. ISP said alcohol was a factor. The investigation continues by the Idaho State Police. |
