Volunteer tutors from L-C Valley Literacy Council help adults read.
CLARKSTON, WA - A local literacy organization invites you to their 24th Annual Trivia Bee.

The Lewis-Clark Valley Literacy club is a group that offers free tutoring to adults. Their hope is to educate illiterate people and people who are learning English as a second language. According to the United States Department of Education 21% of American adults can't read above a fifth-grade reading level. The annual Trivia Bee is the group's main fundraiser for the year.

"We have volunteer tutors and volunteer students," said L-C Valley Literacy Council member, Darlene Larson. "And getting them together and providing this space for them at Walla-Walla Community College is very important to us."

The Trivia Bee is at CrossPoint Alliance Community Church Friday starting at 6:00. There's a buffet and the competition starts at 7:00. Tickets are $25 at the door.
