New jail commander comes from within
ASOTIN, WA - Asotin County Sheriff Ken Bancroft said he's chosen a Jail Commander to fill the newly vacated position.

Sergeant Don Anderson is looking at a promotion at the end of this month when current jail commander captain Jon Singleton officially resigns. Sheriff Bancroft said the move to hire from within allows for a seamless transition in the Asotin County Jail.

"Every step in the agency, you're training for promotion all along anyway so he has the experience there and he'll be a good fit for the jail," said Bancroft.

Captain Singleton said he's moving to Oregon for personal reasons. The vacant Sergeant position will likely be filled after the official budget is finalized by the Asotin County Commissioners.
