LEWISTON - Main Street in Lewiston has become the focus of downtown revitalization. A new business called the Yoga Center just moved in and is hoping to bring new excitement and better health to the area.

"There's no yoga studio here," said owner Luke Baugh. "We have a lot of experience, so we decided to bring something new to the Valley, see how they like it."

Baugh, a Clarkston native, said he's excited to be back in the Valley to teach the ancient practice. He said 18 million American's do yoga each week.

"Anybody can do yoga, absolutely anybody," he said. "If you're old, if you have health problems, there's different yoga styles that can fit that. If you are young and athletic then we definitely want those people here."

For Baugh, downtown was the best choice, with unique buildings and a friendly feel.

"We looked at a place up on Thain Grade, but I don't know, we really like the vibe down here," he said. "My brother and I have some friends who are musicians and they like it down here. And, we like the spot, it's great. It's got a nice foyer with some chandeliers and stuff."

Classes are just starting up with sessions just $10 each. You can also drop in anytime between 5:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. and ask questions.

"We've got a few people signed up for classes, but today was our first day," said Baugh. "We just got the heater fixed and we are ready to go!"

On April 12 at 5:00 p.m. they will be hosting a fund raiser for poor kids and their families in India. There will be live music and yoga demonstrations. There is no charge, but donations will be accepted.
