Painting pavement markings is final step toward 15th Street completion
CLARKSTON, WA - Crews are getting close to wrapping up the15th Street project in Clarkston.

Crews will be applying the final pavement markings on15th Street between Fleshman Way and Bridge Street starting Wednesday night and lasting through next Tuesday. The work will take place between 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

"We're to the final step and that is applying the last pavement markings, which are the stop bars, crosswalks and turn arrows," said Asotin County Public Works Engineer, Craig Miller. "This will complete the project and we're happy to see it end."

Miller said the reason painting is happening at night is due to the type of spray-on plastic they're using, which has to be done when the pavement is less than 105-degrees.

People will still be able to drive along 15th, although Wednesday evening only, the center turn lane will be closed while crews are painting.
