CLARKSTON, WA - Leaders from the L-C Valley's Habitat for Humanity are using part of a $10,000 donation to pay for a Clarkston woman's new house.

Whirlpool Corporation gave $10,000 to Deranleau's in Lewiston, for them to give to any Habitat Organization they want.

Rich Goodwin said they don't get any financial help from the government, so they rely heavily on the community.

"The donations and goodwill of the people that help and believe in the mission of Habitat is what helps build houses," said Habitat for Humanity Executive Director, Rich Goodwin.

For every house Habitat builds in the U.S., Whirlpool donates a fridge and stove.

The owners of Deranleau's have donated a microwave for every house that's been built in the Valley over the last 20-years. Goodwin said the $10,000 will go toward the last house they built and any future walls that will be put up in our area.
