Joshua Grossman was charged with rape as an adult after he raped a 43-year-old Lewiston woman in her home at knife point on September 1st.
Grossman will be in the custody of the Idaho State Board of Correction for no less than five years and no more than 20. That term will be suspended as he undergoes rehabilitation at the Juvenile Correction Institution. He will also serve one year in the Nez Perce County Jail.
"This is clearly an offense that involves, what I would have to describe as violent and something of a power offense directed toward a victim who was very known to you, very close to you and has been a part of your life for a substantial period of time," said Second District Court Judge Jeff Brudie.
Grossman will attend rehabilitation immediately for substance abuse, addiction, depression and assault behavior. Letters of apology were also submitted by Grossman and his parents which were silently read by Judge Brudie.
