An eyewitness tells KLEW News that 28-year-old Jerry Winsryg was stabbed by his 14-year-old sister after a dispute between the two because she refused to get out of bed. According to the Asotin County Sheriff's Office, Winsryg was stabbed in the side with a kitchen knife and then taken with his two children to Asotin by Winsryg's father's caretaker, Jackie Morris. Morris said the group was met by the children's mother and an ambulance, which transported Winsryg to Tri-State Hospital where he'll remain for a few days after a puncture to his kidney.
"I was there the whole time," said Morris. "He was grabbing his kids after he got up and he grabbed the kids and took them outside. I helped him put the kids in the car, and when I helped him put the kids in the car, I turned around and he was on the ground, so I picked him back up off the ground again and put him in my car and rushed him out here to Asotin."
A short time after the stabbing, the sister posted the following statement on her Facebook page: "…My brother went psycho on me and choked me like a million times. So to get him off of me, I stabbed him with one of my kitchen knives... He had to go to the hospital and then straight to jail."
