Felton said the problem stemmed from their service provided by 911 Incorporated out of Denver.
According to Lewiston Police Communication Director Cindy Felton, all calls from wireless devices came up with no information. The department sent out an emergency text message and press release stating that some 911 calls were not coming through the system and directed callers to contact the City of Lewiston.
"Generally when somebody calls 911, we get their name, location and their phone number," said Felton. "So, we have all of that information readily available."
Felton said the problem stems from their service provided by 911 Incorporated out of Denver. She said the company has been bought out and there is little to no experienced staffers to help them with their problems. However, the issue has since been fixed. Dispatch expects a new telephone system to be in place by March 20th.
