Chantell says being involved helps better yourself and your resume
CRAIGMONT, ID - Chantell Lowe is self-motivated, hard-working and career-oriented, just a few words that describe Highland High School's 2013 valedictorian.

"I like a challenge so 4.0 that's my challenge....but I got a B in geometry so I guess I'll settle for a 3.96," said Lowe.

But how does she do it? Chantell excels not only academically but in her extracurriculars as well.

"I play four sports," said Lowe. "Varsity basketball, volleyball, cross country and track."

And as if that's not enough, she's State President of the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, member of the Business Professionals of America and Future Farmers of America, Yearbook Editor and honor society member. Whew!

"Being involved is one of the best things you can do to better yourself and your resume," said Lowe.

After graduation, Chantell said she's studying Dietetics at the University of Idaho.

"I definitely like it in Idaho," said Lowe. "I'd like to stay in Idaho but if my career takes me somewhere else that's where I'll go."

Congratulations, Chantell, you're this week's Academic All Star.
