WASHINGTON D.C. - A severely wounded Marine from Cottonwood received a standing ovation on the floor of the House of Representatives Monday.

23-year-old Lance Corporal Randal Wright was in D.C. receiving treatment at Walter Reed Hospital for injuries suffered from an IED blast in Afghanistan. He lost both legs and a hand.

While he was in town, Wright took a tour of the Capital with his new bride and stopped by for a meeting at the invitation of Congressmen Walt Minnick and Mike Simpson.

Monday evening's Congressional session celebrated the 30th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Wright was invited onto the floor and was introduced and praised for his service.

Minnick said Wright's visit was timely in highlighting who benefits from changes to last year's historic GI Bill.
