LEWISTON - Tuesday will mark the sixth anniversary of one of the most tragic events in U.S. history. The nation, and the Valley, are ready to remember.

A couple of events are scheduled in the L-C Valley to honor those lost in the 9/11 attacks.

Clarkston Fire Chief Steve Cooper said a "Rally Around the Flag" will be held at noon at the Clarkston Post Office, hosted by the Clarkston VFW. Speakers there will talk about what happened on the historic day, and about patriotism.

Tuesday evening, a parade of emergency vehicles will wind through the Valley. It will begin near the Asotin County Courthouse at 6:00 p.m. and pass by all local fire stations, where flags will fly at half staff. It ends at Pioneer Park in Lewiston where there will be a ceremony at around 7:15 p.m.

The public is encouraged to take part in all the events.
