LEWISTON - Police are searching for leads in a home invasion that happened last weekend.

The Asotin County Sheriff's Office said at about 3:30 a.m. Saturday they got a report of a break-in on the 900 block of 16th Street.

Captain Dan Hally said an elderly woman was awakened by two males inside her home, one with a baseball bat. She told police the men were wearing hooded sweatshirts and she wasn't able to get a good look at them.

Hally said she may have left her front door unlocked and the woman said she believes they were looking for prescription drugs. Police don't think the two men took anything.

Hally said home invasions like this are rare in the county, recalling two in the last six months. He said as of now there are no new leads or suspects.

If you saw anything suspicious you are asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 243 -4717.
