LEWISTON - Interim Lewiston City Manager Dan Marsh hopes to help the city council and the city move forward.

He said he was approached about the possibility of taking over for Jay Krauss last week. In an interview Wednesday, Marsh said he's up for the challenge.

"I've had the benefit of working closely with the last two city managers," said Marsh. "I think having my financial background is an added bonus. What happened, happened and now we're moving forward."

Marsh has been working for the city for 13 years and is the Administrative Services Director. He said it's unclear how long he'll be holding the interim city manager position, but that he's planning on getting things done.

"The budget's going to be a primary focus," said Marsh. "In fact I'm meeting with department managers and we're going to start internally in that regard. Probably my theme is let's get some things done. Let's move as quick as we can. We need public input, that's why we're in local government. But short of that, let's move as fast as we can and let's get some projects done."

Marsh said he brings an optimistic attitude to the position and will decide at a later point if he's interested in applying for the job.
