Stephen R. Young, 58, of Eagle, was arrested Friday and booked into the Ada County Jail on five counts of lewd conduct with a child under the age of 16.
The Ada County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of Young Saturday afternoon and said the felony charges represent five different victims over the last five years.
The victims were all infants at the time Young had sexual contact with them, according to officials. The victims are known to Young but but did not live in his home. The sexual contact happened in various homes in Ada County.
The information gathered so far does not indicate any of the incidents happened while Young was on duty as a Boise police officer, the Ada County Sheriff's Office said.
Young is scheduled to be arraigned in court on Monday afternoon.
