LEWISTON - A weekend fire in north Lewiston Sunday was quickly extinguished.

The fire, at about 5 p.m., threatened a 30 x 30 metal pole maintenance shop.

There was minor property and content damage, but the fire was mostly confined to a work bench and chainsaw. The magnesium from the motor of the chainsaw caused problems because it's hard to put out with water. A fire extinguisher did the job.

The fire was out in less than ten minutes. The cause is still under investigation.
