Woman crashes jeep into house

OROFINO – An Orofino woman was arrested Saturday on an outstanding warrant out of Asotin County after reportedly running her jeep into a house, injuring two people.

The Orofino Police Department said it happened at around 3:40 p.m. Clearwater County Dispatch received a 911 call that a vehicle had ran of the road and struck a house located at 1285 Michigan Avenue in Orofino.

Police Chief Jeff Wilson and Officer Eric Dodge, along with the Orofino Ambulance responded to the scene. Upon arriving on scene the officers found a Jeep Cherokee had gone off the road while traveling east on Michigan Avenue and struck the residence.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Jodie Broncheau, 48, of Orofino. Police said Broncheau struck some mailboxes along the road prior to striking the house.

There were four occupants in the house at the time of the accident, one adult male, one adult female and two small children. The male and infant were transported to Clearwater Valley Hospital.

Broncheau was not injured. She is facing a charge of Inattentive Driving but was arrested on unrelated charges for a warrant out of Asotin County.

Broncheau was transported to the Clearwater County Jail for booking.
