Man in critical condition after Soldier's Meadow crash

LEWISTON- A man is in critical condition after crashing his truck Tuesday night.

Michael Todhunter was driving east on Soldier's Meadow Road with his 12-year-old son at about 6:15 Tuesday night. The Nez Perce County Sheriff's office said Todhunter lost control of the pickup and ran off the left side of the road. Todhunter was severely injured and trapped in the car, but his son was not injured and was able to walk home where he called police. A Winchester Quick Response Unit and Lewis County Deputy Arnzen responded to assist along with Nez Perce County Search and Rescue. Once they were able to free Todhunter, Lewiston Paramedics transported him to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center where he was stabilized and air lifted to Sacred Heart Medical Center. Todhunter was listed in critical condition at the Spokane hospital Tuesday afternoon. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
