LEWISTON - A Lewiston man charged with sending lewd text messages to a number of women reached a plea deal with city prosecutors.

41-year-old Larry Dillman was in Magistrate Court Thursday before Judge Jeffrey Payne. There he entered a plea of guilty to four counts of use of a telephone to harass or offend and one count of trespass to privacy.

Dillman had originally been charged with nine of the telephone harassment counts.

Assistant City Attorney Jamie Shropshire said Dillman admitted to sending lewd or obscene texts with his cell phone between January and June of 2009 and peering into a private tanning room.

She says the agreement recommends 180 days in jail with 170 of those suspended, one year of probation, withheld judgment and a $200 fine, plus court costs. Dillman was also ordered to undergo a psychological sexual evaluation and comply with any recommendations that result from it.

His sentencing is set for January 7.
