LEWISTON, Idaho - A local car dealership got more than they bargained for when a shipment of new cars came into Lewiston Monday night.

Police said a 23-pound bale of marijuana was just sitting in the back seat of a car which originally came from Mexico.

Captain Tom Greene said the bale was wrapped in foil and packaging and was discovered by dealership employees. The street value is estimated to be in the tens of thousands of dollars.

Police did not immediately identify the dealership. The investigation is continuing.

Police have the 23 pounds of pot in evidence.

Greene said the incident was a first for Lewiston Police.
