LEWISTON - Fire investigators said either a failed stereo or plug-in strip is to blame for a fire that torched a home at 1023 6th Street, across the street from LCSC early Sunday morning.

All six occupants of the home were able to get out safely.

Lewiston Fire Marshal Linda Steputat said they determined Tuesday the fire started in a downstairs bedroom because of electrical issues.

The local Red Cross provided assistance to the people who lived in the residence.
