Various businesses from around the Valley are teaming up to make one person's dream come true. Bill Scharnhorst, owner of GNC, jumped at the chance to be a part of the project.
"When something like this comes along, an extreme makeover contest, and you can be a part of it... I was really happy to be asked to be a part of it, because that's what it's all about here at GNC is helping people become healthier and feeling better about themselves,” said Scharnhorst. “So, when somebody comes up with this project, and they say, 'Hey, do you want to be a part of it,' I jumped at it immediately."
10 businesses including Viaggio Medical Spa, Dentistry By Design, and nationally board-certified plastic surgeon Steve Ozeran, are offering their services free of charge.
"We've actually have had more people coming in and getting applications for friends that they know want to be a part of the contest, but maybe they were too shy to come in or go to any of the other local businesses that are a part of the contest,” Scharnhorst said. “I think we've had more friends and family members come in and get applications for those people that they feel are good candidates."
Valley residents who are between the ages of 25 and 55 can apply.
You can pick up an application at any of the 10 participants. For a list of businesses, or if you have any other questions, call (208) 746-0479.
You will need to take two pictures of yourself: one profile shot and one frontal shot. Then, bring your pictures and application to the Extreme Makeover screening on Saturday, April 12, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Bryden Canyon Professional Center, located at 3326 4th Street, Bldg. 3.
KLEW News will be following the winner on their extreme makeover journey.
