Preliminary hearing set for Lewiston man who set off nationwide search

LEWISTON - The Lewiston man who police said prompted a nationwide search for him and his son was in a Nez Perce County courtroom Thursday morning.

39-year-old Charles Remacle appeared before Judge Gregory Kalbfleisch in Magistrate Court Thursday morning. Remacle is charged with Custodial Interference for allegedly not returning his son Colin to his mother following a visitation. He is also facing a Resisting Arrest charge in Umatilla County.

He was arrested at a Pendleton casino early this month.

Court files are still sealed at this time. Remacle is due back in court on Wednesday for a preliminary hearing. He is being held in the Nez Perce County Jail.
