Meridian Elementary School.
Eric Exline, Meridian School District, spokesman, says a student at Meridian Elementary was being so unruly that his teacher asked all the other students to leave the classroom so she could try and deal with the situation.
While alone together in the room, an altercation ensued. The student allegedly kicked the teacher in the ribs.
The teacher was taken to a hospital to be treated for rib injuries.
Exline said police were called to the school, but it's uncertain if the student could be charged with a crime. The student has been suspended from school. It will determine next week if further action will be taken against the student.
The school district did not say what grade the student was in, however, 2News has been able to confirm that the student is in the first grade.
