The National Weather Service lifted its flood watch Friday for the Palouse, Valley and Prairie, after issuing it the day before.
Severe thunderstorms, that often bring downpours with them, did not materialize Friday. Just steady rains for the most part.
Asotin County Emergency Manager Butch Aiken said he had been monitoring local creeks and said because of the dry weather most of the rain soaked into the ground.
He said the Grande Ronde River is running six feet below flood level and the Snake River is running low near Heller Bar.
Aiken said boaters need to use caution.
Aiken said until Friday, most places in the county had only seen six tenths of an inch of rain since July 17.
